The first Adirondack chair was created by Thomas Lee around 1903. Lee was looking for comfortable outdoor furniture for his vacation home. After an exhaustive search he decided to create his own chair for his cottage in Westport, NY, located in the Adirondack National Park which is where the name originated.
2 Latitude's story starts in Ticonderoga, NY in the heart of the Adirondack mountains. We began as a family hobby that evolved into a small family business. My dad, two brothers and I built our version of Adirondack chair to help pay for college. Now in 2016, 30 years later, based in Weston, CT my family continues the tradition and launched 2 Latitudes Adirondack Lifestyle Furniture company. Were still that small family business making handmade Adirondack style furniture, children's toys and soy candles one piece at a time.
On behalf of our family we hope you enjoy our designs. We look forward to meeting you and finding the exact chair that will provide you with years of relaxation.
